Cam Show Etiquette: How to Talk to Cam Models the Right Way

Models remember usernames. That single fact explains most of what follows. The viewer who says hello and tips a little gets recognized next week and greeted by name, and his shows get noticeably better over time. The viewer who typed a demand thirty seconds after arriving gets muted and forgotten by Thursday. So etiquette here is not really about manners. It is about whether you are a customer she wants back.

In free chat

Say hello like a normal person. "Hey, how's your night going" outperforms whatever opener you were considering, because models talk to hundreds of people a day and ordinary is a relief.

Skip the demands. Free chat is a preview rather than a show, and every model hears "do this" fifty times a night, mostly from people who will never spend anything at all. Never haggle over rates in public. Her rate is posted on her profile, and asking for a discount in front of the room is a reliable way to get removed from it. Honestly, fair enough.

Asking for her real name, her location or her socials goes nowhere too. She will not tell you, the question marks you as a problem, and platform rules usually forbid her from answering even if she wanted to.

Making requests that get answered

Ask rather than order, and be specific about what you are asking for.

"Would you do X" and "do X" contain nearly the same words and produce completely different evenings, because one of them treats her as a person with a say. If she tells you something is off the menu, that is the end of the subject. Pushing past a no does not move the no. It just changes the temperature of everything after it.

Specific requests also land better than vague ones. "Can we start with..." gives her something to build on, where "surprise me" tends to get you her standard routine. Which is fine, though it is a bit rich to then complain the show felt impersonal.

The thing models mention most often, in my experience, is that their favorite regulars are the ones who talk back. In 1 on 1 cam sessions especially, the shows that go well are the ones that feel like two people in a room rather than a video with a chat box attached to it.

Tipping, briefly

Tip when you make a request, rather than afterwards once you have decided whether you liked the result. A tip attached to an ask reads as serious. A request with nothing attached is closer to asking a stranger at work for a favor.

What gets you banned

Recording, or joking about recording. Asking to move payment off the platform, which is also the standard opening of the scams in the cam scams guide. Insulting her to needle your way into attention. Spamming the same request until someone responds. Being drunk enough that you are typing at the room rather than to anybody in it.

Most of that list is obvious written down, and people still do all of it nightly. The underlying point is smaller than a code of conduct. She is a professional doing a job, the shows get warmer when you treat her like one, and models look after the people who make their night easier.
